What we collect, what we do with it, and what we deliberately don’t keep.

Draft. This is honest working copy, pending review by counsel before launch. It describes how we intend to handle your data — treat the reviewed, published version as the binding one.

1. Our approach

An AI companion holds personal things, so privacy is part of how Simonina is built, not an afterthought. The short version: your companion remembers you, but we don’t treat your conversations as an archive to keep and mine. The sections below explain what that means in practice.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information — what you give us to sign up and sign in (such as your email address and authentication details), and basic profile details like your name and preferred language.
  • Your companions and content — the companions you create or customize, and the messages you exchange with them.
  • Usage and device information — limited technical data needed to run, secure, and improve the Service.

3. How your conversations are handled

To make a companion that remembers without drifting, Simonina distills what matters from your conversations — the people, the milestones, the relationship as it grows — and carries that forward as your companion’s memory. The verbatim message log is not something we hold onto as a long-term archive. The one exception is narrow and stated plainly: an exchange flagged for safety may be retained briefly so it can be reviewed.

4. How we use information

  • to provide the Service — generate replies and keep your companion’s memory consistent;
  • to operate your account, process subscriptions, and provide support;
  • to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse;
  • to comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t trade it.

5. AI processing and service providers

Generating a companion’s replies requires sending your messages to AI inference providers, and we rely on trusted infrastructure providers to host data and run the Service. These providers process data on our behalf under agreements that limit how they may use it. We choose them carefully and share only what’s needed to make the Service work.

6. When we share information

We share information only in limited cases: with the service providers described above; when required by law or to respond to valid legal process; to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service; or in connection with a business transfer, with notice where required.

7. Data retention and deletion

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your companions or your account, and we’ll delete the associated personal data, except where we’re required to keep certain records (for example, for legal, security, or billing reasons) or briefly retain a flagged item for safety review.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these by contacting us (Section 12); we’ll respond as required by applicable law.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat the sensitivity of this data as a first-order responsibility.

10. Cookies

We use only the cookies and similar technologies needed to sign you in, remember your preferences, and keep the Service secure. A fuller cookie description will accompany the reviewed version.

11. Children

Simonina is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from people under 18; if we learn that we have, we’ll delete it.

12. International users

Simonina may be operated from, and use providers in, countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take the steps required by applicable law to protect it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. If we make material changes, we’ll let you know through the Service or by email.
